Who is Couples Therapy For?

  • Are you having trouble connecting with your partner on a romantic level?

  • Do you feel like your partner has no respect for (OR difficulty respecting)  you or your needs?

  • Have your family and friends  started to notice a distance between you and your partner?

  • Do you have difficulty understanding where your partner is coming from during arguments?

Therapy Can Transform Your Relationship

Romantic relationships are often the hardest and deepest connections we have in our lifetimes, but can also provide the deepest and most enriching connections. They take immense amounts of emotional work and sometimes don't yield the rewards we expect or desire.

Our Viewpoint therapists are here to help you restore the connection that has been lost and realign your partnership.

Facilitating proven Gottman methods that are specifically designed for relationships. Our "client" is your relationship and we're here to help you navigate it as individuals who come together as partners.

Our easy 6 step process

STEP 1

Would you like to make sure therapy is the right choice for you and your partner? Book an optional 15 minute consultation - absolutely free.

STEP 2

Couples Interview

We want to know about you as a couple. How did you meet? When did you first notice a change in your relationship? Where are you at now? So we can better understand your unique needs and those of your partner.

Individual interviews

After the couples interview, you will work a therapist individually. This is your opportunity to discuss your history in a confidential setting.

STEP 3

STEP 4

Gottman Questionnaire

We provide you with a self-guided, in-depth analysis to assess your relationship and give us the information to guide your future therapy.

Guided Feedback Session

Rejoin your partner for a guided feedback session with your therapist. Together, we'll review past session insights and assess your current relationship dynamics. Then we will develop a tailored plan to address your specific needs as a couple.

STEP 5

STEP 6

A Stronger, Happier Relationship Awaits

On your journey through couples therapy, you and your partner will be equipped with the tools and strategies to navigate challenges and build a stronger, more fulfilling relationship. You may notice better communication, healthier ways to navigate conflict, a strengthened bond, increased intimacy and overall more satisfaction with your relationship.

Let’s put this into perspective.

Conflict is Inevitable in any relationship

The average couple waits 6 years before seeking help for marital problems

½ of all marriages that end do so in the first seven years

Stable marriages have 5 positive interactions for every 1 negative interaction, while struggling marriages have a ratio of .8 positive interactions to 1 negative.

69% of conflict in relationships is about unresolvable, perpetual problems. (Research has also shown that it’s about managing those issues rather than getting rid of them.)
