• Discover Lasting Change & Wellness

Every stage of life brings change and challenges. There is no measure of how “bad” something has to be to seek out support. Individual therapy is just that — built for the individual and their needs. No matter what you are facing right now, our counsellors and therapists are here to help.

  • Being Together. Staying Together. Growing Together

Love is destined to evolve and change over time as we move through life. But when it starts to feel like a burden, or when “is love enough” becomes a real question, it may need some external support and attention.

  • Grow into the person you were always meant to be.

Teenage years are full of self-discovery, but not without its share of challenges. No matter what your teen is struggling with, we can support them with tools and techniques that will help them now, and in the future.

ANY REASON IS THE RIGHT REASON TO GO TO THERAPY

We are all impacted by changes in our life — the difference is how we handle it.

Emotions are a perfectly normal part of life. They’re our way of processing the world, and making those beautiful moments even more special. They can also tell us when something’s not right. If you feel like one emotion is taking over, or you are constantly veering between highs and lows, this can be a sign there’s something deeper going on. The therapists at Viewpoint Calgary can help you work through the emotions you’re experiencing, and give you the tools to find balance and live your best life.

Welcome, it’s nice to meet you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have questions? There is a very good chance someone else does as well.

  • At Viewpoint Calgary, we like to look at therapy as an investment. By investing in the process, you are investing in the change you would like to see in your life, relationship, family and community.

Standard fees for a registered psychologist, based on  the schedule of fees set by the Psychologists Association of Alberta (PAA), are as follows:

    $220.00 for a 50-minute session

    $330 for an 80-minute session

Viewpoint counsellors may offer other rates or a sliding scale, depending on their qualifications or your financial situation. Please discuss rates and any requests for a sliding scale directly with your counsellor.

  • We now offer direct billing with Alberta Blue Cross! Ask us for details on this or any other provider.

Many employee health plans reimburse all or part of your counselling fees up to a yearly maximum. Clients should submit receipts directly to their insurance provider for reimbursement. Any fees not reimbursed by your health plan can also be deducted each year from your taxes as a medical expense.

  • Unfortunately, we cannot in any way promise that counselling will provide you with the results you are seeking.

In our experience, however, even a single session can have a positive impact on your life or relationship. We believe that the best way to know if counselling will work for you is to give it a try - and we are here to help you take the next step.

The tools we provide are just that - tools. By making a personal commitment to begin the process, you are advocating for your own growth - and we think you’ll be amazed at how far you can grow.

  • If you are asking this question, you’ve probably given it a lot of thought - which might mean that you’re thinking about the steps you can take to save your relationship.

Although we cannot promise a positive outcome, we can give you skills and tools to address your concerns and learn to communicate effectively with your partner. After all, clear communication is the bedrock of every health relationship - from family and friends to coworkers and community.

  • Absolutely! We want you to work with the counsellor(s) you feel most comfortable with. If you’re not certain who that may be, we will be glad to recommend an outstanding member of our team, so you can begin your healing journey.

  • We fully respect your privacy, and we are committed to preserving your trust. All of your information, including the details of your specific therapy and the content of your sessions, is confidential and no information will be released to any third party without explicit written consent from you according to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPP) and/or Health Information Act (HIA).

This applies to our communications policy as well. We will only contact you by the channels you have personally approved. In certain situations we may reach out with a brief request to contact our office, but we will never transmit your personal or sensitive information via email, text, voice message, or other form that might compromise your privacy and security.

  • We cannot conduct couples counselling without the involvement of both partners, but we can discuss individual counselling options for someone who is in a relationship.

Even with only one partner present, there is a lot that we can accomplish together. We have even found that there is often a trickle-down effect as well: as one partner begins to work towards becoming their best self, the more hesitant partner may become curious as to how they might cultivate the same growth in their own life.

  • Viewpoint Calgary currently works with children who are 11 years of age or older. We are also able to recommend outside counsellors who specialize in counselling for younger children.

  • We are typically able to meet with new clients within 5-7 days - please contact us as soon as possible to book your appointment.

  • If it’s an emergency, we highly recommend contacting 911 or emergency services for immediate assistance first, and then reaching out to us for further support. We can also provide crisis intervention on request.

  • Due to our counsellors’ caseload, we require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice when cancelling your scheduled appointment. This will allow us an opportunity to book another client for that date and time.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment. Phone or video sessions are available on request as well for those who are unable to visit our office.

No-shows or cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will result in the client being billed for the full session at our established rates.
