Grief

The loss of someone or something meaningful to you can leave an unspeakable void in your life. You probably have moments when you feel frightened and alone, other times you may be plain angry.

You may find it difficult to put your feelings in words, daily activities may seem insurmountable, and resuming a “normal” life may appear impossible.

Others may have certain expectations as to how you “should” or should not behave, and may pressure you to move past your loss.

Although grief is a natural part of the human life cycle, each person’s response to loss is unique. Allowing yourself to grieve in your own way is important for your mental health.

Whether you’re suffering stems from the death of a loved one, losing a job, or other loss, at Viewpoint, you will find acceptance, compassion, and understanding. Your counsellor will support you as you work through your grief, and help you to make sense of your loss.
